Diagnose the kind of miss, run one short drill and change only one variable.
Find out which miss you are trying to fix
“Bad aim” can refer to several different problems: starting the crosshair far from the target, moving past a target, failing to track a moving player or firing while you are out of position. A single sensitivity change will not solve all four. Watch a short replay when available, or write down what happened immediately after a fight.
- Crosshair starts far away: work on pre-aim and where you look while moving.
- Crosshair passes the target: lower your movement intensity or reassess sensitivity gradually.
- You track well in practice but lose fights: review cover, timing and decision-making.
A 15-minute practice plan
- Minutes 0–3: warm up with controlled movements and comfortable grip.
- Minutes 3–7: practice first-shot placement on stationary or predictable targets.
- Minutes 7–11: track moving targets without constantly changing sensitivity.
- Minutes 11–15: apply the skill in a low-pressure match or practice environment and note one pattern.
The schedule is a suggested training routine, not a guaranteed improvement rate. Use whatever practice modes are available in the current game, and take a break if your hands hurt.
Change settings one at a time
Record your input method and current settings before making changes. Controller sensitivity, mouse DPI, display latency and frame stability are separate variables. Change one setting, repeat the same practice task and note what changed. If you switch everything at once, a good or bad result teaches you very little.
Date / device / input / one setting changed / drill / common miss / next experiment. Keep the note short enough that you will actually use it.
Aim cannot replace position
A well-placed shot is less helpful if you expose yourself to multiple opponents. Practice taking a safe angle, using cover and stopping a losing engagement. If the image stutters, diagnose performance before further aim tuning with our graphics guide or the troubleshooting flow.

This guide explains a repeatable method rather than claiming a live ranking, current code or guaranteed result. Features differ across versions and devices. If something has changed, send a correction with the game version and a source.
